Transferring
Your License to a New Machine
No matter
what product you are using, whether it is QuikCalc, DebtCalc, Retire!,
VehiCalc or FirstResponse, it is very easy to transfer your license
to a new machine, along with all of your data. Simply follow these steps:
- Install
the program on your new machine. If you need to download again, click
here if you have a current version, or click
here, if you are using an old version.
- Once
installed, register it with your old registration number.
- If
you have the Premium, Preofessional or Office Edition of a product,
create a user id and password when prompted.
- You
should now be able to use the program on your new machine.
- On your
old machine, run the program and from the File menu, select Backup
Data File. If you see a message telling you to close all windows,
make sure you have closed everything within your program (most people
forget the Solve for Missing Number Calculator).
- Follow
the prompts on the screen to create a copy of your database.
- Once
completed, take this file to your new computer (it will not fit on
a floppy disk). You can do this by transferring it to a shared network
drive, copying it on a CD, or transferring it to a USB Flash Drive.
- On your
new computer, run the program and select Restore Data File from your
File menu.
- Follow
the prompts and select the file from step 7.
- Once
the data has been restored, restart the program. If you are using
the Premium or Office Editions you will be prompted to enter your
OLD user id and password that you used on the old machine.
- You
should now have access to your old data on your new machine.
- On your
old machine, go to your Start menu, All Programs, Slateboard Software
and select your program directory. There should be an uninstall option
there. Select this and follow the prompts to uninstall the software.
You are
now done!
